LC Academic Team
Livingston County Elementary Academic Team

When NLES didn't have enough student participation to form their own academic team, SLES quickly welcomed our kids in and formed the collective Livingston Elementary Academic Team. On the team is our very own Eden Crenshaw. We are so excited to announce to all of you that they won 2nd place and will be heading off to regionals! We have SUCH bright students in our elementary schools who work diligently to go above and beyond. We are proud to say that Eden placed 1st overall in the math portion of the tournament. Big things are in store for this group of kids! Can't wait to hear the noise they make at regionals! Best of luck!

Janet and Leisa with the Kindergarten Class
Warm Hands Initiative

Locals, Janet McGregor and Leisa Dunn, saw a need within our school system and took the initiative to fill that need. With cold weather quickly approaching, the two took on fundraiser opportunities to purchase every elementary school student (North and South) a sweet treat and a warm pair of gloves. They presented those to our kids when we returned from Christmas Break and our kids were beyond grateful. For days, smiles covered their faces as they talked about the "snowmen" and the chocolate bars that didn't make it home. A week later, our area experienced extremely low temperatures and I rested better at night knowing that we had done our best to ensure that everyone had a warm coat and, because of the diligence and heart of two local ladies, a warm pair of gloves. While dollars are always appreciated, because we all know there is never enough, when we speak of investing into our children it often times looks like this: love and time. Janet and Leisa came one afternoon to disperse the goodies to our students and did just that for about 2 hours--loved every child and gave them their time. If you don't believe me, ask those two ladies how it feels to invest love and time in the life of a child. It doesn't get much better.
